Mark Washington,
Chairman of the Board
The son of James (past Parliamentarian) and Mary Washington. The grandson of Rachel Delilah Sconiers and John Cooper. The great-grandson of Silas and Sarah Broxton. The great great grandson of Mariah Sconiers and King Dock Alexander.
Mark Washington was born in West Palm Beach, Florida to Earl and Mary Washington. He attended Palm Beach County Schools and graduated from Palm Beach Gardens High School in 1987 and graduated from Florida A&M University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1992. Later, he earned his Masters Degree in Education from Walden University.
Mark Washington taught for the Palm Beach County School District for 14 years where he was active at Roosevelt Community Middle School. Presently, Mark is completing his 29th year of teaching and is employed at Atlanta Public Schools. Currently, he is teaching 7th Grade Social Studies at D.T. Howard Middle School, where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. attended grammar school.
Mark has enjoyed traveling extensively around the world. Some highlights of these travels include being baptized in the Jordan River (Israel), travel to the Sahara Desert via camel (Cairo, Egypt), climbing the Great Wall of China, floating on the Dead Sea, and visiting the Island of Patmos.
